Big little Ella

Ella went to the doctor today. She is 33.5 inches and 25 lbs.

Dancing in the rain

Last night was fun. We were on the patio setting up Ella's new picnic table that was acquired via a little curbside recycling. A typical Florida evening downpour started and Ella was enthralled by the rain. She'd step out to just be in the rain a little and was going back and forth. As she got more used to it she was going out and standing completely in the rain with a big smile on her face and making happy noises. I had to join in the fun and ran around the lemon tree with Ella following. Then we did a little puddle splashing in the pond that forms on the patio whenever we get more than an inch of rain in 10 minutes (often in FL).

Space Shuttle Discovery launch

The shuttle launch was very cool. Weird to be able to step out your front door and see that kind of thing. The picture doesn't do it justice. It was bright orange and moving very fast. Quite impressive. Next time (if there is one) we want to get closer.
